Frequently Asked Questions

What am I installing?

There is one primary installer that Longsword Security requires, and it supports Windows, MacOS, and main Linux distros. That agent is the AteraAgent, which we use to deploy software patches for each respective operating system and third-party applications, including our MDR solution.

For Windows, there is a download link that is in the initial setup email for a quick installation.

For MacOS, the download link is on a Google Drive and might flag as being unable to scan for viruses. This is normal, and should look like this :

Select “Download Anyway” and run the package.

For Linux, you will receive a Terminal CMD to run. Linux users, this should not be a problem.

I accepted my Bitwarden invite, and it was confirmed, now what?

We encourage you to install the browser extension in your browser of choice. You can find the Edge and Chrome extension store links, along with the full OS installers and mobile applications here: Bitwarden

Additionally, you can export your data from popular password repositories like Chrome and Edge to import into Bitwarden. This will drastically reduce the setup time. Please see that link here : Importing

What is the security awareness training and how does it work?

We deploy the training directly to your mailbox! The first email you will receive is for the user awareness questionnaire, which uses 36 questions to see where you are. The trainings that go out via email target the weak points that are found in that questionnaire. The first email should come from "securitytraining@longsword.usecure.io” and look like this :

Screenshot of a Google Drive warning message indicating the file cannot be scanned for viruses and may harm your computer, with a download option.
Email from Longsword Cyber Security informing the recipient about a subscription to a user awareness questionnaire containing 36 multiple choice questions on cybersecurity, with a blue button labeled 'Take Questionnaire'.
